William C Granning, 97, of Hudson, Florida passed away at 1:45 a.m. Monday, July 21, 2025, in Hospice House, Brooksville, Florida. Bill was born on July 18, 1928 in South Bend, Indiana to Claude and Rose (Dolatowski) Granning. He retired in 1978 from Bendix, where he was a Manager in the Maintenance Department for many years. Upon retirement, Bill was Co-Owner of Choice Builders, Inc. with his son-in-law where they built several homes. On November 25, 1949, he married, Louise Nowak, who preceded him in death on November 21, 2003. Bill is also survived by two daughters Kathleen (Wayne) Wisler of Hudson, Florida, and Judith Beelaert of Sparta, New Jersey; and son, Mark (Kathleen) Granning of Punta Gorda, Florida; five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Following the passing of Louise, Bill married Lillian Keck on July 2, 2005, who preceded him in death. A Memorial Service will be celebrated at 3:30 p.m. E.S.T. Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at Prevatt Funeral Home, Hudson, Florida. Bill will be cremated and a service will take place at Bushnell National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida on Friday, July 25, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. Bill joined the Marine Corps in 1946 – 1951 and served during World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of NCOA, New Port Richey, Florida. Bill was also a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Hudson, Florida. He enjoyed card games with family and friends. Bill and family loved spending summers at Long Lake, Union, Michigan, swimming and water skiing. He built a cottage and a year around home on Long Lake. He also helped his son-in-law, Wayne, build their family home in Hudson, Florida. Bill passed along his love for the water to his children and grandchildren.
