Wilber Copenhafer, born in 1938 in Ottawa, Kansas, was the son of Mary K. Knight-Copenhafer and Wilber A. Copenhafer, Jr. He grew up in Troy, Kansas, and pursued higher education at Kansas State University, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. Wilber had a distinguished career at George Butler & Associates, ultimately holding the position of President. Furthermore, he was a founding partner at Lucity, LLC, an engineering software development firm, where he played a significant role as a board member.
At the time of his passing, Wilber resided in the Tampa Bay area with his wife, Terry K. Copenhafer enjoying the beach life. He is survived by his daughter, Lori, and her husband, Stephen Barrett, along with their children: Trey, Kelsey, David, Daniel, and great-grandchildren Adalynn, Anduin, Asher, Archie, Margo, and Alisdair.
Additionally, he is survived by his stepdaughters, Sandy, and her husband, Jeff Sherwood, and Julie Panyik, as well as grandchildren Chelsey and Josh.
