Susan D. Jackson

July 12, 1961 — March 27, 2023

Susan Denise Jackson (West) age 61 of Hudson, Fl, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 27th, 2023, after a hard battle with ovarian cancer, with family by her side. She was born on, July 12th, 1961 to Ute and James West in Helmstedt, Germany, then moved to Delaware as a child. She spent many happy years growing up in Delaware with her brothers and cousins. Once she graduated from Dover High School in 1979, her and her family packed up and headed south to Dunedin, FL. She worked for the Adams Mark Hotel on Clearwater Beach and was the youngest Food and Beverage Director in the company’s history. She continued to work in the Clearwater area in the food and beverage industry for many years. In her later years she went back to school at Pasco Hernando Community College and studied Health Sciences. She worked in the Pasco, Hernando area as a Certified Medical Assistant and Home Health Care Provider. This brought her a lot of joy, as she loved taking care of people.

Susan was a loving mother, sister, aunt and friend. She enjoyed having her grandchildren visit and spend time with her, she would keep clothes and games for them to have things to do when they visited her. Susan was funny, sassy, loving and a spit-fire. You never knew what she would say or the facial expression that would go with it. She enjoyed time with her sons going fishing and crabbing as they would sit back and enjoy the Florida sun. She also enjoyed taking care of people, cooking, gardening, taking walks and sitting in her yard watching her birds.

Susan had a very special relationship with her youngest brother Keith. Throughout her life, they would live close together or together, taking care of one another. More often than not, when you would see one, you would see the other. The past few years, Keith would drive her to her appointments, cook her meals and make sure she had all her medications. They would fuss with each other, then laugh and fuss some more, like true siblings that love each other dearly.

She is preceded in death by her mother Ute West and father Harry James West and survived by her brothers Craig and his wife Valeria, Michael and his wife Amy, and Keith West. Her sons Keith his wife Teleah, Andrew and Nick Windsor as well as 9 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and tons of cousins.

She was loved by all that knew her, and we were blessed to have her in our lives.

In Lieu of flowers her family is asking for donations in Susan’s name to the American Cancer Society.
