Ray Lewis Martinez

Ray L. Martinez passed away peacefully on March 26, 2025 at the age of 78 in Hudson, FL at home. He was born on October 2, 1946 in Tampa, FL. Preceding Ray in death were his parents Betty Allen and Tony Martinez and stepfather Harry Allen.

He was survived by his loving and caring wife of 30 years Cathy (aka Bubbles), his children Ray Jr. and Richard, grandchildren Casey, Brandy, Christopher, Kimberly, Courtney, Bryce, Seth; great-grandchildren Belle, Delilah, and Michael; sister Cheri (Jim); brothers Robert, Anthony, David (Tara), and Rex (Tara); nieces and nephews Cindy (Klint), Susan, Kailyn (David), Siobhan, Stephanie, Alexandra, Taylor (Shanna), Noah, and Liam, and sixteen great nieces and nephews.

He graduated from Hillsborough High School in Tampa and attended Hillsborough Community College. He served as a gunner’s mate in the Coast Guard during the Vietnam War and retired from GTE/Verizon after 30 years of service. In his retirement, he enjoyed many years of fishing, diving for lobster in Brother Ray’s Channel (Florida Keys), hunting, bowling, skiing, softball, and traveling with his wife, family, and numerous friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday April 6 from 1 to 4 PM at the Summertree HOA Recreation Facility, 12005 Paradise Point Way, New Port Richey FL (parking available in north and south lots). Please join family and friends in sharing special memories of Ray.
