Marie E. Burbank

June 30, 1945 — January 4, 2026

Hudson

Marie Burbank went home to be with our Lord on January 4th, 2026 at Bayonet point Hospital, after suddenly collapsing in church and having multiple cardiac arrests. She was born to John and Biagina (Bruno) Westervelt on June 30th, 1945 in Albany NY. She was an only child. She did have a sister and brother who were still born before her birth. She married and had a daughter Biagina Lounello. Marie remarried and had Marie Kramer and William Kramer IV. She then met and married her soulmate Frederick Burbank and had a daughter Eleanor Norville. She was no stranger to hard work as chores at home started young and then working at the age of 15 at a local store and then on to other jobs including SPAC and General Electric (Selkirk, NY). It was here that she met and trained Frederick her soulmate. She was a woman liberator in a man's job in 1977 when she took the job at GE. She stopped working for a short time to be home with the kids and she took up selling Avon. They left Albany, NY and moved to North Greenbush / Renssleaer, NY area. She then worked at McDonald's in East Greenbush, NY for quite some time. Then at Ground Round in East Greenbush, NY as the hostess. She eventually opened her own cleaning business Versatile Family Helpers with a friend Rosie before taking it all on her own. Cleaning was an outlet and she enjoyed helping people live in cleanliness. She eventually became a teachers aid in the East Greenbish School District for a few years where she found profound joy in her work with some behavioral and special needs kids. She still remembers several students she worked with fondly and often would tell the story of Spence and how much it meant to her that she ran into him years after and he was leading a successful life. That made her so happy. She stopped working and took on babysitting her granddaughter Mackenzie and thoroughly enjoyed that. Grandpa soon joined in on the fun of the daily Nanny and Mackenzie adventures when he retired. They would go fishing, to the park, museums, historical houses etc. They then became snowbirds to FL before moving there permanently in 2012.She was a faithful parishioner of New Life Assembly of God in East Greenbush, NY for many years serving in multiple capacities such as Sunday school.teacher, childrens, church teacher, Royal Rangers Leader, teaching VBS, serving on the church board and leading the cleaning ministries. As snowbirds and then permanently in FL she was a faithful servant of Praise Family Worship Center in Hudson FL. Where she taught sunday school and children's church for sometime. She was also a part of the women's ministry. Marie was a longtime resident of the Ponderosa Park. She was heavily involved in the ladies auxiliary serving on the board in multiple facets, was the Sunshine lady there to greet new residents and visit those in the hospital. Marie will always be remembered for her ability to make everyone laugh even in the worst of times, being the life of the party, her love for children, and helping the less fortunate. If she welcomed you into her family you were now family for life! She loved people well most anyway, and you surely knew it if you were in her circle. She also had strength like none other. She had a difficult life. Being very sickly as a young child to losing her mom at age 15, and so on. She never was broken no matter how hard some tried physically and emotionally. She took any and all of those terrible experiences and learned from them and grew stronger because of them. She didnt let the battles win, if she lost a battle she went on to win the war. These last 5.5 years has been very tough on her since she lost Frederick and then her middle daughter Marie. This is the most vulnerable we have seen our strong mom, and that has been hard. She was always the strength that held us together and it was difficult to see her this way. She has now finished the race with dignity and grace and we have no doubt she will hear the words "well done good and faithful servant."We are thankful for all the support and love she has had from near and dear friends and church family here in FL. She was predeceased by her parents John and Biagina (Bessie) Westervelt, her husband of over 42 years Frederick and her daughter Marie. She is survived by her daughter Biagina Lounello of New Port Richey FL, Son William Kramer IV (Tammy) of Castleton NY, daughter Eleanor (Jeremy) Norville of Colona IL and grandchildren Biagina, Justin, Christopher, Kayla, James, Leaha, Brandon, Ava, Jerika, Rachelyn, Anthony, Jovani, Mackenzie, Lainey, and great grandchildren Antonio, Gianna, Dominick, Genevieve, Justin Jr, Jax, Lux, Anthony Jr, Keira, Isabella, Lucas, Elianna, Gabriel, Anjelia, Ahmyla and one on the way Laila. Services to be held Saturday January 10th at 2pm at Praise Family Worship Center located at 17920 Meridian Blvd Hudson, FL with food and fellowship following. Another service to be held in NY in March with further details TBD.
