We are sad to announce the passing of Lowell James Hopler on August 9th, 2023 at Hospice in Zephyrhills, Florida. Lowell will be deeply missed. He was born in Denville, New Jersey and his biggest achievement was volunteering as a fire fighter within the Denville fire department for over 27 years. Moving to Florida with his wife Betty in 1986 he continued his work within the fire department. Lowell also volunteered at the Port Richey fire department and became president of the association as well as Chaplin. Lowell is survived by his loving wife Betty Hopler, three daughters’ Meribeth, Kimmie, and Loraine, and four step children Sharon, Jimmy, David and Debbie. Also, Surviving family members are eight (8) living grandchildren and two (2) predeceased grandchildren DJ and Milissa, and 12 great grandchildren. Lowell was a deacon at St. Marks Presbyterian church and was also known for watching the Tampa Bay Bucks and spending time with his family.
Services will be at Prevatt Funeral Home 7709 State Road 52, Hudson, FL 34667 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Lowell will be sent to his final resting place at Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Rockaway, NJ.
