Kathleen Ann Schimelfanick Henry passed away on May 10, 2026, at Vitality Memory Care in Hudson, Florida.
She was born in New Haven, Connecticut, and went on to build a life in Florida centered around family, laughter, and connection. She worked for Pinellas County Schools for over 20 years, where she touched the lives of many.
She was a proud member of the Red Hat Society and was known for her vibrant spirit, her sense of humor, and her ability to make others smile. She loved to laugh and was truly loved by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Steven Henry; her father, Raymond Schimelfanick; and her mother, Virginia Booth Longobardi.
She is survived by her stepmother, Darlene Schimelfanick; her siblings, Virginia Palluotto, Raymond Schimelfanick Jr., Gloria Phaneuf, Matthew Phaneuf, Zoe Phaneuf, Todd Schimelfanick, and Jodi Daugue; her two children, Elizabeth Crom and Melissa Garland; and her five grandchildren, Katryna Crom, Allison Garland, Kyralyn Crom, Elora Crom, and Amelia Garland, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was an amazing mother, a devoted grandmother, and a cherished friend. She was always there. She always showed up, no matter what. Her love, laughter, and presence will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
She was able to celebrate Mother’s Day both here on earth and in heaven, a reflection of the love she gave so freely throughout her life.
