Josefina (Josie) Doucette passed away peacefully on February 13, 2022. She was born February 18, 1944 in the Philippines and was raised between the Philippines and Guam.
Josie was high school valedictorian, went on to college, then to Vietnam during war-time for work. It was in Vietnam where she met her husband Bob, to whom she was married for 48 years till he passed in 2018.
After living and traveling abroad, she and Bob settled in Port Richey in 1986 where they lived for 32 years. She moved to be near her daughter in Sarasota in 2020.
Josie’s profession was primarily Administrative Assistant and homemaker. Later in life she worked for TSA and also worked the voter polls each election cycle. Josie was an avid crafter, was very active with her tennis league, often as team captain, and loved to bowl. Her greatest love was family. Josie was the family matriarch hosting gatherings for birthdays, holidays and other special occasions. She was there for everything for her daughter, was pseudo grandparent to her nieces and nephews, and doted on her 2 grandchildren.
Josie is survived by her daughter Michelle, two grandchildren, two sisters and two brothers.
Josie was laid to rest at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park alongside her husband Bob on February 21, 2022.
