Joan C. Derbin

Joan C. "Brown" Derbin, 86 of Hudson, FL, went to be home with the Lord, the morning of January 6th, 2023. Her late husband Hank Derbin preceded her in death.

She was born in Scranton, PA to the late Harry and Charlotte Dawson Brown on July 21st, 1936. She was the youngest of 16 children. She is survived by 2 sons, Joseph and his wife Kathy Kowalsky, Husdon, FL and Timothy Kowalsky, PA. A sister, Joyce Brown Deitrich and husband Ronald of Scranton, PA. Also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Joan was a 1954 graduate of Scranton Tech High School. She worked as a laborer with several different companies. She enjoyed reading Amish novels, spending time with family and friends.

She was very active in her church, St. Nicholas R.O Church in Olyphant, PA.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Joan Derbin to Saint Nicholas Church; 205 Gravity Ave, Olyphant PA. 18447.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday, January 21st, 2023 and 2pm at the Hudson Church of God; 7631 New York Ave. Hudson, FL with the rev. and Gregory Richie officiating.
