Janice M. Goldsby (Kristy, Welker, Srednicki) , 67, of New Port Richey peacefully passed away on October 19, 2021 surrounded by her loved ones, after an eight year battle with Ovarian cancer. Janice was born on May 12, 1954 to Casmir Srednicki and Jeanette Jachimski of Bridgeport, CT. Janice graduated from Jonathan Law High School in Milford, CT. After graduating high school, Janice went on to pursue her career as a Certified Nurses Aid. She worked in the medical care field for most of her life until she was in a bad car accident that gave her a permanent back injury. Soon after, she started working for the public school system in Port Richey as a bus aide, assisting special needs children on their ride to and from school. She loved reading them books and using puppets to entertain them and keep them occupied. Care taking came natural to her as she was always a loving person who was selfless and more concerned for others before herself. Janice was a dedicated mom to Carolyn Kobayashi of Port Richey and David Welker of Bristol, CT who were children of her first husband Walter Welker of Wilton, CT, whom she was married to for over 20 years. Her loving husband John Goldsby of New Port Richey, was married to her for 11 years and was a dedicated caretaker throughout her battle with cancer. She is also survived by her sister Diana Dmowski of Shelton, CT, her daughter in law Heather Welker and her granddaughter Jillian Welker of Bristol, CT. She was predeceased by her parents Casmir and Jeanette Srednicki, her second husband James Kristy and her cousin Regina Lorusso. Services for Janice will be held on Thursday at 930am at St Michael the Archangel Catholic Church at 8014 State Road 52 in Hudson, Florida. The burial will be at 12:30pm at Bushnell National Cemetery in Sumter County. In a lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hernando- Pasco Hospice of New Port Richey.
