Dominic Matias Jr, age 58, of Port Richey, Florida, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on the evening of May 15, 2022.
Dominic was born in 1964 and preceded in death by his parents Carmen and Dominic Sr. He was raised in (Bushwick) Brooklyn, New York, and spent most of his life there, before migrating to Florida to enjoy his family in the Sunshine State in 2015.
Growing up in New York, you could find Dominic break dancing, playing football, or roller skating. He was the life of the party everywhere he went. He had an admiration for cars and could recite his favorite movies word for word. In his elder years, Dominic loved to enjoy the outdoors, listen to music, and especially cherished spending quality time with his Grandchildren.
Dominic was a devoted Christian, with a tough, yet loving and witty personality. He loved to help others, and could make anyone laugh. Through dark times, you could always lean on him to shed light and uplift you in a time of need.
Dominic is survived by his son Dominic Matias III (Rebecca), grandchildren Taina, Dominic IV, and Eric, as well as siblings Elizabeth and Moses, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that he loved.
To honor his memory, a celebration of life is being held at Prevatt Funeral Home on Saturday, May 28 for viewing from 2-6 PM and his memorial services will be held the following day, Sunday May 29th 2-6 PM. The family asks anyone who knew and loved Dominic to join them at this time to celebrate his legacy and reminisce in all the wonderful moments shared.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to The National Kidney Foundation to honor Dominic’s memory.
