In Loving Memory of Barry Clark LaClair

With loving remembrance, we honor the life of Barry Clark LaClair, who was born on March 15, 1938, in Haverhill, Massachusetts, and passed away peacefully on October 22, 2026, following a brief illness.

Barry was the beloved son of Theodore Clark and Marion (Stauty) LaClair. He was predeceased by his children, Brian and Karen LaClair; his son-in-law, Mark Dunning; his nephew, James Hill; and his wives, Gloria Battles LaClair and Lorraine Reese LaClair.

He leaves behind his sister, Suzanne Hill, and her husband, Michael; his daughters, Christine LaClair and her wife, Molly Froelich, and Laurie Dunning; his niece, Andrea Arana, her husband, Hadid, and their daughters, Elise and Maggie; his granddaughters, Alicia and Brianna Dunning; and his great-grandchildren, James, Jewel, and Jream.

Barry attended Haverhill High School, Fryeburg Academy, and the University of Massachusetts Stockbridge School of Agriculture, where he cultivated a lifelong passion for horticulture. Growing up on a small farm with a greenhouse, he developed an early love for plants and the natural world. He eventually worked alongside his father at Christian Hill Nursery and spent much of his career in landscaping, operating businesses in Groveland, Massachusetts, and Spring Hill, Florida. He also held positions at Malden Mills, Concord Reformatory, and Western Electric.

Barry served his country in the Army National Guard and as a dedicated Boy Scout leader in Groveland. He enjoyed annual trips to Vermont to bring home Christmas trees, as well as making wreaths and tending poinsettias. A New Englander at heart, he was a loyal fan of the Bruins, Celtics, Red Sox, and Patriots.

Above all, Barry found joy in caring for gardens and landscapes, sharing his love of nature with family, friends, and his community. He will be remembered for his hard work, his deep love of family, his corny jokes, and the beauty he brought to the world through his landscaping and his reverence for the natural world.

In keeping with the family’s wishes, a private ceremony will be held to honor his life.
