Annette Secor Nelson, born in Syracuse, New York, she moved to Florida in 1950. Predeceased by husbands, Prentice V. Wheeler Jr., LTC USA retired Richard W. Secor, and Lewis C. Nelson. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Candace Wheeler Frey, and her brother, William Behling, of Mexico, NY. Survived by her daughter, Pamela Wheeler Busonick, sons; Prentice (Skip) V. Wheeler, III and Bradley R. Wheeler. Seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, one sister, Ann Marie Behling, of Fairview, NC, one brother, Lawrence Behling, of Phoenix, NY; sister-in-law, Marian Behling, of Mexico, NY, and nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Nelson was a member of St. Martin's Episcopal Church, Hudson, was an active volunteer there and in the Diocese. She was a member of A.F.S.A. and active in Division and International retiring as a Lifetime International Trustee. She was also a member of MOAA, a past Vice President of the Port Richey Chapter and a volunteer for OHH at Haley's VA Hospital. She also was an active Blood Donor.
Services will be held at The Regency Residence, 6711 Embassy Blvd, Port Richey, FL 34668, on Friday, February 6, 2026 at 10:00 AM.
Inurnment of Annette's cremated remains will take place at Arlington National Cemetery with her late husband, Richard W. Secor, at a later date.
