Alphaetta C. Grasso

With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Alphaetta Grasso, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She entered eternal peace on January 20, 2025. Alphaetta was born on August 30, 1937, in Spring Valley, New York, to Anna and Robert Mellon. She grew into a warm-hearted and fun-loving child, surrounded by her siblings: Robert, William, Vera (Dolly), and Paul. She later moved to Paterson, New Jersey, where she was raised and graduated from Eastside High School. During her school years, Alphaetta formed lifelong friendships and shared countless adventures with her best friend and sister, Vera. After high school, she married James Prall, and together they shared seven children: James, Donna, Arthur, Stacy, Maureen, Bonnie, and Michael. In 1978, Alphaetta found love again and married Louis Grasso, whom she lovingly referred to as the love of her life. Through Lou, she welcomed another adult son into her heart, Louis Grasso Jr. Alphaetta and Lou shared fifteen happy years together until his passing in 1993. She has now reunited with him in eternal rest. Alphaetta was predeceased by her parents, Anna and Robert Mellon; her brothers, Robert, William, and Paul; her brother-in-law, Robert; her beloved husband, Louis Grasso; and her children, Arthur and Donna. She is survived by her sister, Vera; her children, James, Stacy, Maureen, Bonnie, and Michael; her son, Louis Grasso Jr.; and her cherished grandchildren. Alphaetta will be remembered for her loving heart, her devotion to family, and the joy she brought to everyone who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will live on through generations.
